If you’re planning to go to rehab, well done! Respect.
Thousands of people know that heading to drug rehab to get control of their lives back was the best decision that they ever made. What a large percentage also know, is that the night before rehab, was scary. But they got through it, and changed their lives for the better, and wouldn’t want it any other way.
You’re about to leave your life for a designated amount of time, you will be with strangers, you contact with the outside world will be limited and possibly monitored, you don’t know what’s going to happen at drug rehab, what will the people be like, what will they make you do, and withdrawal looms, how is it going to feel, will you be able to bear it?
These thoughts are completely normal the night before rehab, and they can get very, very loud. Forcing you to second guess yourself, making you fear the thing that you are about to do.
Again, this is normal.
Change is scary, and rehab is a big change, addiction can and does become what your life revolves around, remove that and who are you?
Again… Completely a completely normal thought process.
Trust me, and trust all of those other’s who have successfully gotten through the craziness that our minds create, and have gotten themselves to rehab, and stayed the course.
This is your first test, you are actually going, you’re going to change your life, you’re going to show yourself that you are stronger than you ever imagined, you are going to take back control.
Damn, you’re amazing!
I’m writing this, because I want all those to who are about to head to rehab, that any thoughts that they get telling them that they cannot do it, or any feelings of fear, are normal, and that these feelings have been overcome by thousands of others who would never look back, and know that they made the best decision of their lives being strong and going through with rehab.
This is your first test, and you will get there. Be strong! I know you can do it!
